Schmincke Norma oil paint, gesso primed cotton canvas, DinA5, 280 g/m²

Finally I was brave and patient enough to try a new painting discipline: oil painting.

I remember that I used oil painting once when I was a child. I was super confused about the smell and the consistence. Years after that, I realized it was not broken acrylic it was oil.

It took me many years to give oil another try. My excuses: expensive, complicated, many tools are necessary, it takes a long time to dry, …

And some of these points are still valid in my personal opinion, but I am happy, I tried oil colours again.

What I appreciate: the saturation of the colours and the smooth texture. I definitely have to gather experience, though.

First oil painting

Here is the original photo of the milk bottle. I posted this picture on Instagram in 2016. I like to browse through old pictures and posts to get inspired by my own memories.

By the way, it is a returnable bottle from Mendler Milchhof. We went to the farm in Neukölln to get some fresh milk and to take a look at the cute cows.
